The CAP E.A.T.S. program here at Community Academy of Philadelphia school promotes four core values that define what it means to be a dedicated athlete: Effort, Attitude, Teamwork, and Sacrifice.

1. Effort: Effort represents each athlete’s commitment to always give their best. Whether it’s in practice or in a game, putting in consistent effort is key to personal growth and team success. It’s about pushing one’s limits and striving to improve every day.
2. Attitude: Attitude shapes how athletes face challenges and respond to victories and setbacks alike. A positive, resilient attitude helps athletes stay focused, bounce back from failures, and encourage their teammates, contributing to a stronger, unified team environment.
3. Teamwork: Teamwork is the foundation of a successful team. It involves trust, communication, and mutual respect. By working together and supporting one another, athletes learn that they can achieve more as a group than individually, creating a spirit of collaboration.
4. Sacrifice: Sacrifice reminds athletes that sometimes personal goals need to be set aside for the benefit of the team. It’s about prioritizing team objectives over individual desires, being willing to share time and energy, and understanding that success requires dedication.

Through the CAP E.A.T.S. program, our athletes are guided to embody these core values, both on and off the field, making them better athletes and leaders in our school and community. Student-Athletes participating in sports at CAP at the beginning of each season give their short and long-term goals for the season. The goals the student-athletes create will create goal-oriented individuals in sport and in life for their future endeavors.
