Resources & Benefits
Community Academy of Philadelphia proudly celebrates alumnus Leroy Moore, who made school history by becoming CAP's first student-athlete to score 1,000 career points in basketball.
Leroy reached this remarkable milestone on February 10, earning the admiration of teammates, coaches, classmates, and families who filled the stands to cheer on the Bruins. His achievement reflected years of dedication, perseverance, and passion for the game.
"I am truly honored to have been able to watch Leroy grow both as a person as well as a basketball player over the past four years," said Mary L. Proietta, CAP's Upper School Athletic Director. "The fact that Leroy has reached this amazing milestone is a true testament to his love and dedication for the sport of basketball, his team, coach, and our school. I am incredibly proud of all Leroy has accomplished and look forward to hearing about more of his achievements in the future."
Leroy's standout junior season saw him score 323 points, and he continued building on that success during his senior year as he reached the historic 1,000-point mark. Following his graduation from CAP, Leroy continued his academic and athletic journey at Delaware State University, where he planned to continue his basketball career. Leroy's accomplishment remains a proud part of CAP's athletic legacy and serves as an inspiration for future generations of Bruins. We are proud to celebrate his achievements and the lasting impact he has made on our school community.
