How to Submit an Application


1. Click on the Powerschool Enrollment Link (this link closed January 30, 2026 and will reopen October 15, 2026) 2. For new accounts, you will need to click Create Account. 3. You will receive an email stating that you have successfully created your secure family account and can now complete online forms for Community Academy of Philadelphia. To sign in, you'll be asked for your email address and the password you selected when the account was created. 4. Enter the following required information to continue. This account is meant to be created by an adult family member. Creating only one account per household is important so the system can save and access your information correctly. Don't Have an Email Address? You will need to obtain a free email account through Google or Yahoo. 5. Once you complete your application, you will be brought to the "Next Steps" screen. Here, you can print a copy for your records. 6. You will receive an email stating the Intent to Register has been submitted to the Community Academy of Philadelphia. 7. If you have to make any adjustments to your data, you must contact the Admissions office at 215-533-6700. 8. If you want to Complete an Intent to Register for another applicant you can click "Application" under number 2 on the "Next Steps" screen. Finally, confirm all the information is correct and click on the "Submit" box, at the right of the page. WARNING: DON'T FORGET TO CLICK THE "SAVE & SIGN OUT" BUTTON WHEN FINISHED, ESPECIALLY WHEN USING A SCHOOL OR PUBLIC COMPUTER. THIS WILL ENSURE THAT YOUR INFORMATION REMAINS SECURE. Save & Sign Out can be found by clicking the circular button with your initials at the top right of the screen.

General Enrollment Information

An application is not a guarantee of admission.

Only ONE application will be accepted per child.
Students can enroll from the age of 5 through graduation from High School or the age of 21.
CAP is open to all children who reside in this Commonwealth; this also includes foreign language students.
Students must be five years of age by September 1st of the year they are applying for Kindergarten.
Students must be six years of age by September 1st of the year they are applying for first grade.

Siblings: Siblings must apply through the application process. A Sibling Lottery will be held in the event more siblings are applying than seats available in any particular grade. All Sibling applications will be verified.
To qualify for the sibling lottery your child must meet one of the following criteria defined below*:

1. A child living in the same home and sharing the same guardian.

2. Biological/adoptive sibling

3. Step-siblings residing in the same household

4. Foster children residing in the same household

* Step-siblings residing in different households will not be considered for the sibling lottery*

Once the lottery and waiting list are generated, parents/guardians are informed via email/text as appropriate.
If a child is not admitted within the school year, a parent/guardian must re-apply for the lottery for the next school year.

Proof of Residency Acceptable Documentation

Any one of the following containing the name and current address of the child’s parent or guardian constitutes acceptable documentation:

A current deed;
A mortgage statement no more than three months old;
An active residential lease agreement;
A utility bill no more than three months old;
An internet bill no more than three months old;
A credit card bill no more than three months old;
A bank statement no more than three months old;
A tax bill no more than three months old;
An insurance document no more than three months old; or
A piece of mail sent in the past three months by the federal or state government such as benefits information, voter registration, or tax documents.
