Spotlight on Information Technology: Building Digital Skills for the Future
In today’s world, technology touches every career field — and at CAP, students don’t just use technology, they learn to master it. Our Information Technology (IT) program gives students a strong foundation in computer systems, software, networks, and coding, preparing them for success in college, careers, and beyond.
The course is designed to introduce students to the broader digital landscape through four key units:
Unit 1: Google Suite – Students build practical skills in Google applications used in classrooms, businesses, and professional settings.
Unit 2: Computer Architecture – A deep dive into the hardware and systems that power modern computing.
Unit 3: Networking and Security – An introduction to how computers connect, communicate, and stay secure in an increasingly digital world.
Unit 4: Coding – Students learn the building blocks of programming, exploring problem-solving through code.
In addition to classroom learning, students also have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized credentials that validate their technical skills and enhance their post-graduation opportunities. This structured approach gives students both the technical knowledge and problem-solving skills needed to thrive in a variety of future career paths.
By combining academic instruction with practical application, the IT program ensures students gain both the confidence and the technical foundation to succeed in today’s fast-moving digital world.
