Alumni Spotlight: Yazel Ramirez

This month we would like to highlight Alumna Yazel Ramirez, who graduated in 2012.
Ramirez spent the last 2 years of her high school journey at CAP. During her time here she was very involved in extracurricular activities. Ramirez played volleyball and softball. She was a host on CAP News and had the opportunity to attend the Overseas trip to Spain.yr

“I was only a part of the CAP family for 2 years and in those 2 years I’ve learned so much about myself and began to push for things that I wanted. I will always cherish CAP and all the memories,” said Ramirez.

After graduating, Ramirez attended Cabrini University majoring in Communications.

“[I] was also in Cabrini’s news after being inspired by doing CAP News.” said Ramirez.

yr2Soon after, Ramirez realized she did not want to pursue a career in communications. After 2 years, she transferred to Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, where she obtained a diploma in Medical Assistance.

Currently, Ramirez works at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in the Department of Cardiology as a Practice Supervisor. On a day-to day basis, Ramirez manages the front desk staff, maintains the schedules of physicians, and assists the practice manager in managing the office.

Aside from working her full-time job and being a mother, Ramirez began a small cookie decorating business in 2018. Her small business is called Sweets By Yazel.

“I have always had a creative side and I actually learned that about myself when I was in art class 2 years in a row at CAP. I put my creativity to the test and applied it to the cookies and it was a hit,” said Ramirez.
