Athletic Department Staff

James Barnshaw - Athletic Director

215.533.6700 ext. 1126

Since arriving at CAP I have been an eager participant in sports, acting at one time or another as the head coach of boys and girls basketball, boys soccer, and baseball. Over that time I have come to see the good that can be achieved through athletic participation and am excited to take on the role of Athletic Director. In this role I will look to continue to foster an environment where striving for excellence, commitment to a common cause, and the joy of being part of a team are ingrained in our student athletes on a daily basis. I look forward to working with the teams, coaches, students, and parents to ensure athletic success at CAP.

I graduated from Dickinson College in 2004 with a Bachelors degree in History. While at Dickinson I was on the swim team for all 4 years, serving as captain my senior year. After working in the private sector I decided to go back to school and graduated from Temple University in 2010 with a Masters of Education in Secondary Social Studies. I immediately started working at CAP and am now a 12th grade Civics and Economics teacher. Teaching and sports are both passions of mine and I am excited to finally combine the two in my new role at CAP.

On a final note I am always interested in hearing from the CAP community

about our sports programs. If you have any suggestions, want to talk about any of

the programs, or would like to find out how to participate, please do not hesitate to contact me.
