Sallie Mae - First in my Family Scholarship

The first in my family scholarship program is dedicated to assisting students who are first in their family to attend college. Applicants must be of Hispanic descent, U.S. Citizen, minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate financial need.

Sallie Mae Unmet Needs Scholarship
Applications are open April 1st and deadline is May 31st
The Sallie Mae Fund helps meet last dollar needs of low-income students through the Unmet Need Scholarship Program. The awards are to be used to supplement the financial aid package, not replace aid students have been granted from their institution. To be an eligible, applicant must meet the following criteria: Be a U.S. Citizen, have a family adjusted gross income of less than $30,000, have a minimum CUM GPA of 2.5, and have plans to enroll in a post secondary school.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Scholarship
Deadline to apply is April 16, 2009
This premier scholarship opportunity is afforded to Latino students who have a history of performing public service-oriented activities in their communities and who demonstrate a desire to continue their civic engagement in the future. There is no GPA or major requirement. Students with excellent leadership potential are encouraged to apply .

PA House Scholarship

Robert C. Byrd Scholarship
Deadline to apply is April 1, 2009
The Robert C. Byrd Scholarship Program is a federally funded program offering a merit scholarship for outstanding high school seniors who have been accepted at an institution of higher education. To be eligible, applicants must be in the top 5% of their graduating class, have a 3.5 or higher, and be accepted for enrollment to a college/university.
