Waleska Matos '99, assistant to the daycare manager at Community Academy, and Melissa Rivera '04, daycare paraprofessional, both received their associate's degrees on May 11, 2008, in early childhood education from Eastern University.

Anna Duvivier CHS '94 &
Teresa (Castro) Casañas CHS '92

Anna has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) of CAP. In this position Anna is the second "in command" to Mr. Proietta and runs all the day-to-day operations of the school. She is also the CEO of One Bright Ray, Inc., the corporation that owns the buildings and runs Fairhill Community High School (at 4th and Somerset) and the new North Philadelphia Community High School (Norris Square). Anna has earned a BS in management and an MS in human resource management and has worked at CAP since the charter school began in 1997. Anna is pictured in Madrid, Spain, on the far left with Teresa (Castro) Casañas.

Victor Vasquez ‘01

The Northeast News Gleaner reports (1/31/07) that CAP alumnus Victor Vasquez 2001 is the “Boxing Barber.” Victor works at “Consider It Done” at Front and Lehigh has a barber and has a 2-0 record after turning professional as a junior-middleweight. His next fight is 7:30 pm February 10, 2007, at the JCC Klein Branch (484) 318-6133 for tickets.

Ashley Rodriguez '06

Ashley Rodriguez (2006) is working as an administrative assistant at the US Attorney’s Office in Center City. She’s attending school at night for cosmetology, and wants all her friends and teachers at CAP to know that she misses them.

Nisha A. Marrero ‘06

Nisha A. Marrero ‘06 graduated from basic training at Naval Station Great Lakes (IL) on November 22, 2006. Nisha was her division leader with the rank of Recruit Chief Petty Officer. She will be continuing her U.S. Navy education as an airman at the Naval Air Station Pensacola (FL).
